ISSC 2014 / CIICT 2014 Call For Papers
University of Limerick, June 26th - June 27th, 2014
Dear Colleague,
The 25th Irish Signals and Systems Conference, ISSC 2014, will be held in Limerick, Ireland on 26-27 June 2014, hosted by the Department of Electronic & Computer Engineering, University of Limerick. The ISSC 2014 will co-host the 2014 China-Ireland International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies, CIICT 2014.
Call for Papers
Over the past 25 years, ISSC has become the premier conference in Ireland addressing all aspects of signals and systems. The conference focuses on Digital Signal Processing, Control, Communications, and related fields of ICT, and encompasses algorithm and system modelling, design, and implementation, for a broad range of applications.
We invite you to participate in the 25th IET Irish Signals and Systems Conference, ISSC 2014 / 2014 China-Ireland International Conference on Information and Communications Technologies, CIICT 2014. This is a single call for papers covering submissions to both conferences, noting that the two forums will run as one conference with one set of proceedings.
Subject to the conference registration requirements, all accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and the IET Digital Library, and indexed in IET Inspec and IEEE Xplore.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Signal Processing:
Signal processing theory and methods; Speech, audio, image, video and multimedia signal processing; Biomedical and biologically inspired signal processing and systems; machine learning for signal processing; Sensor array signal processing.
Analog, Digital and Mixed Signal Circuit Design:
Embedded DSP; Analog, mixed signal and RF signal processing; ASICs and FPGAs for signal processing and systems on chip; Applications in control, power electronics and communications.
Control Systems:
Adaptive systems and robust control; Robotics, intelligent control systems; Control for production, manufacturing and process engineering; Networked and distributed control systems; Control applications in energy and smart grid.
Communication Systems:
Next generation wireless and optical communications; Network architectures and optimisation; Distributed media and services; Smart grid communications; Applications in sensor networks.
Signals and Systems and Emerging Applications:
Data mining and big data; Digital and information forensics; Internet of things and smart environment; Energy efficiency in ICT; Energy harvesting and green wireless communications.
We also welcome submissions for Special Sessions on novel or emerging areas of research in signal processing, control and communications, particularly in relation to our themes of Efficiency in ICT and Internet of Things. Papers relating to engineering education in the thematic areas are also welcome. Please contact the conference General Chair (chair@issc.ie) or Technical Program Co-Chair (technical@issc.ie) with your suggestions.
Submission Information & Guidelines
Papers must be submitted via the online paper submission system - see Submit Your Paper on the conference website -http://www.issc.ie. Paper applications will not be accepted by email.
Prospective authors are invited to submit a six-page maximum, fully formatted manuscript, in PDF format, reporting original research – see Guide For Authors page on the conference website - http://www.issc.ie
All papers will be reviewed by up to three members of the Programme Committee. Following review, authors will be informed whether their paper is accepted and, if accepted, whether it will be orally presented or presented as a poster.
The Programme Committee will select high quality papers containing original work. The Programme Committee encourages submissions that include implementation or simulation aspects, along with theoretical analysis and design. There will be prizes for the best three student papers presented at the conference.
We would like to wish you all the best for the festive season and look forward to welcoming you to the University of Limerick this summer.
Best Regards,
Hussain Mahdi - ISSC 2014/CIICT 2014 General Chair
